Mother and Daughter Ring (green)
Set with a pebble I collected on Shelly Beach in my home town, Port Macquarie, New South Wales. My mum still walks this beach regularly. This is a significant design for me, it is a motif I have been drawing and sculpting since I was a teenager. Now it appears in a more refined, wearable form. I have kept the original of this design for myself as it is so personal, however I have decided to make limited repeats of this piece as I feel of you will connect with it.
It is a heavy ring, both in pebble and silver. The stone is intended to lay across the neighboring finger. The shape of the ring is triangular to provide 'ballast' helping prevent swinging. This also provides a reverse surface, when the pebble is cupped in your hand has a comforting talisman, the flat rectangle faces outward. Side profile see's a contemporary feminine form. The ring may also be worn as a pendant.
