Beautiful New Zealand Pounamu from Omaru in the South Island. Pounamu may only be gathered by the Iwi (people) from the area, as all greenstone belongs to the traditional custodians. It can then be cut and sold.


My family immigrated to New Zealand from England in the mid 1950's seeking peace after actively demonstrating against England's part in violent conflict happening around the world. As such, I have a strong connection to the place, with many family members still living there. My aunt purchased these Pounamu pieces for me during COVID.
